Trail Ride

We had the awesome opportunity to accompany our horse trainers on a 6+ hour trail ride over the pass last week. We took with us 8 horses, 1 pack horse, and 1 pony. It was a lot of fun, but unfortunately it was so hot and bright out that I couldn't get very many good pictures (they were almost all washed-out). However, this one turned out pretty good, and I actually like its composition. Enjoy!

Equine Update

This is a picture I took about a month ago, but didn't really like, so I never did anything with it. However, I revisited it this week, and in cropping, "vignetting", and converting to sepia tone, I turned it into an image that I actually really like.

My Favorite Picture

I absolutely love this picture, from an old National Geographic. The photographer shown is Melissa Farlow http://melissa.olsonfarlow.com/, but the picture was taken by Lori Faith Meritt http://lorifaithmerritt.com/. I like it so much that I used it in a polyvore set, and pasted it on the cover of my Chemistry lab notebook.

One of these things is not like the other...

I decided to play around with Photoshop a bit, and did some color replacement on this one. The horse's mane was spray-painted for an event, so I thought that desaturating the background would amplify the impact of the neon a bit. Which one do you like best?

One Month

A couple of older pictures from a hunter/jumper show I went to in October. Today starts the one-month countdown to my birthday! :)

Horses, horses

Went to a horse show this weekend and snapped a picture of these horses in a nearby pasture. Short post but I'll put up more pictures later today.
