Here is my final portfolio from my advanced photography class. My theme was "Animals". I know some of these photos are repeat posts, but I hope you all enjoy viewing them the same.

Hello Again.

This will be a rather long post, at least as far as pictures are concerned, considering the amount of time I have let pass by without any updates. As the semester draws to an end, I have found myself transferring and sorting through all of my photography files. Below are some I thought to share

The above two were taken as Christmas presents for a friend (she speaks French, and has been to France).

A Christmas present for another friend (she used to play violin, and really likes flowers).

These three were taken of (and for) my best friend. Some of my first studio work, I think they turned out pretty well.

Another studio shot, this is one of my favorites.

Taken in my makeshift bedroom studio, this picture is of a wine cork and some dried petals from the flower in the above shots.

I love this one.

Ditto.

This picture of my violin was taken for an assignment concerning shape.

Some lentils.

One of my very first pictures from the beginning of the course, I am surprised by how good this looks.

One of my necklaces.

Sunset.

Sunrise on my street.

A crazy picture of my cat.

The third in the French Christmas series.

Taken by the school's greenhouses.

Not my cat.

A really cool-looking spider.

My dog's eye.

Another shot from when my best friend came in the studio.

That's all for now; there may not be many posts for as I must turn my school camera in and I am working on a couple of contests.

More fun with black and white

Some more shots of my cat and dog. Some things just look better in black and white.

Favorite Time of the Year

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I have to say, late fall/early winter is my absolute favorite time of year. I love autumn...or more accurately I love the month of November---that whole feeling of transition, where it's not really fall anymore, but not quite winter either. I love the bare trees, the crunchy leaves, the long darknesses broken up by beautiful golden sunrises and sunsets. I love the cold rushing winds, the smell of rain, and the stormy clouds. And of course, all of this makes for great pictures. Enjoy the season!

Hello!

I have long loved the art and beauty of photography, but only recently invested in it seriously. I am currently taking a beginner's photography class, and in keeping this blog, hope to share my photos, tips, and questions with other photographers. (Note: All posted pictures will be my own original works, unless otherwise stated). This is a picture of my cat, taken for a class project. Now, for a little about myself: I am all about God, family, friends, German, photography, fashion, art history, writing, reading, horses, and travel. I hope you all enjoy my work. And if you know of any good photo sites, or run one yourself, feel free to share--I'm always looking for new and intriguing photos!
