Daily Photographer Post: Edward Steichen

Since getting a job, learning to drive, continuing horse lessons, and trying to hang out with all my friends before they head off to college, I have not had much time to update, or even take any pictures! But I am going to try and step it up on the daily photographer posts, and I promise some new pics are on the way!

Edward Steichen
(1879-1973)

Born in Luxembourg, Steichen was a painter, photographer, and museum curator. Like Stieglitz, whome whe worked with until disagreements about WWI ended their partnership, Steichen aimed to promote photography as a fine art. Also a painter, Steichen worked to make some of his early photos look like paintings. However, he later abandoned his painting, burning all the works still in his possession. He is especially famous for his exhibition/book project, "The Family of Man".
